Finally, the wait is over

We finally started Therapeutic Listening in OT. The program that I spent hours researching and that I think will help Tomás the most. Now, the work begins - 12 weeks, 2 times everyday for 30 minutes. Today, all the testing, money and research was worth it...within 1 minute he seemed more relaxed and happy, which made me happy!

I found this in Parenting Magazine- sensory processing disorder makes some kids feel overstimulated by day to day activities while others seek out more interaction- just a simple definition. In depth, kids with SPD misinterpret everyday sensory information. such as touch, sound, and movement. They may feel bombarded by information and seek out intense sensory information. SPD affects the way their brains interpret information and how they act on that info with emotional, attentional, motor and other responses.
